Javelin To Brothers
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Auckland yachts took the first five places in the national Javelin championships. The brothers, R. and B. MacDonald, sailing G.J., a borrowed and untuned boat, with only a modest record, won all three races yesterday to clinch the title. I Second place went to a previous champion Discretion, sailed this year by G. Gillard and G. Wilson. Canterbury entrants did not live up to their reputations. Giavelina (W. Beere and S. Jiller) taking seventh place, while the Canterbury champion Cirrus (A. and R. Burgess) slumped to tenth. Results were: Race 3.—G.J. 1. Paper Tiger 2. Anathea 3, Sallaway 4. Race 4.—G.J. 1. Charmaine 2, Nimbus 3. Discretion 4. Race S.—G.J. 1. Valkyrie 2, Discretion 3, Charmaine 4.
