Freight In Wahine A cargo distributor. Container Freights, Ltd, is asking all shippers who sent freight through its Christchurch terminal last Tuesday for Wellington and other places in the North Island to get in touch with any of its branches to see whether their freight was shipped in the Wahine. All firms which had freight in the Wahine are asked to write to the company’s Christchurch branch immediately giving full details and the value of the goods. The company says that its i Insurers are awaiting the outcome of the assessor’s survey of the Wahine to determine whether her salvage is practicable. Firms which had freight on board will be kept in constant touch with developments. The company says that the loss of the Wahine will cause delays in its normal overnight service between Wellington and Christchurch. However, arrangements are being made immediately to replace all company-owned special trail ers and equipment which went down with the vessel.
