Easy Squash Win
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. G. Haddon (Palmerston North) playing impressive squash easily beat the leading Christchurch player, J. Henderson, to win the Wellington senior district squash championship, yesterday. He beat Henderson, No. 2 seed, in straight sets, 9-7, 9-3, 9-5. In the women's senior section, last year’s runner-up, Miss P. Simon (Wellington) beat the present champion, Miss T. Lawes (Mitchell Park) 3-1, to take this year's women’s title. Other title-winners at the tournament were: Women.—B grade: Mrs M. Shute (Mitchell Park). C grade: Miss P. Dyer (New Plymouth). Senior open champion: Mrs O. Rolston (Wellington). Men.—B grade. B. McDiarmid (Massey). C grade R. Neal (Marlborough). D grade: J. Chapponel (Thorndon). E grade: D Heaton (Mitchell Park). Senior open champion: S. Wemys* (Wellington).
