Memphis Murder F.B.I. AGENTS HUNT SUSPECT
(N.Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright} MEMPHIS (Tennessee), April 15. F. 8.1. agents from Virginia to Florida are engaged in an intensive hunt today for the man whose abandoned white car fits the description of the vehicle seen leaving the scene of Dr Martin Luther King’s assassination.
The man the agents are searching for is Eric Starvo Galt, aged 37, who is known only as an unemployed sea-
man from Birmingham, Alabama. A white car registered in that name was seized by the 1F.8.L in Atlanta on Friday, (eight days after Dr King was I shot dead in Memphis. Associated Press investigai tors disclose that F. 8.1. agents ;have questioned persons (named Galt in several States, including Virginia, Alabama, | and Florida. The agents have composite (drawings of a man’s face, but I no photographs. At the same time, police sources in Memphis have disclosed that the F. 8.1. has withheld from them copies of the drawing. “They haven’t given us anything but a physical description,” a police spokesman said. “Certainly they aren’t handing out pictures of the man. They either don’t have a good one, or they’re going it alone.” i Requests from newspapers for prints of the F.8.1.’s drawI ing have also been turned l down.
