200 Killed By Tornado
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) DACCA (East Pakistan), April 14. The number of people killed by the tornado that struck the Faridpur district of East Pakistan has risen to 200, according to the latest Government announcement. Another 1200 people are reported injured. Survivors spoke of “boats flying through the air like seaplanes, with people drop ping from them”. Governor Monem Khan of East Pakistan toured the devastated area yesterday morning to take charge of relief work and the organisation of shelter for the thousands of homeless.
