ATTEMPT AT COME-BACK
(N.Z P.A -Reuter —Copyrighej I HONG KONG, April 14. j Ulanfu, the discredited; former leader of China's vast northern region of Inner Mongolia, has attempted to stage a come-back against the new Maoist rule there, according to Radio Inner Mongolia. Ulanfu, aged 68, who had been the ruling strong man in the mountainous autonomous region since the Communists; came to power in China in 1949, was an early victim of Mao Tse-tung’s cultural revolution, launched in 1966. But last night’s broadcast, quoting an article in the official Inner Mongolian daily newspaper, said that Ulanfu. at the head of “a handful of special agents, traitors and bad elements," had plotted to attack the revolutionary committee and stage a counterrevolutionary come-back.
