M. M. Purdon Suspended
(N.Z. Press Association) ALEXANDRA. M. M. Purdon’s horseman’s licence was suspended up to and including April 15 after an inquiry into the running of the Omakau Handicap at the Central Otago Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday. Purdon, the driver of Ginge, caused interference to Our Conga (H. W. Skinner) with eight frulongs and a half to run. W. Stevenson, the trainer of Showpiece, was fined $2O for failing to scratch his horse from the President’s Handicap. Moon Storm, which stood on the mark on the Easter Handicap, was declared ineligible to race at a totalisator meeting up to and including April 20.
