18 Qualify For Fours
(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT. Eighteen teams qualified for post-section play in the Buller Bowling Centre’s Easter tournament yesterday. The tournament attracted a record entry of 54 teams. Two Canterbury fours scratched as a result of travelling diffi culties. A. Archibald (Westport) was the only four to w’in all nine qualifying games. Other teams to qualify were: W. Hayes (Bel fast), eight wins; D. Kydd, T. McKenzie (Westport), B. Jordan (Rangiora), seven wins: J. B Rennie (Christchurch), B. Crestani (Dunollie), I. Kitchen (Runanga), I. Anicich (Redcliffs), R. Perryman (Blaketown), W. Baird, C. O’Brien, and A. Daly (all Westport R.S.A.). G. Blair and J. Daly (Westport). G. Swann (Granity) and J. Steel (Burwood), six wins. Today’s draw is:—First round: McKenzie v. Swan, Crestani v Archibald, Blair v. Kydd, Jordan v. Rennie, Hayes v. Anicich, Perryman v. Kydd, Steel v. Baird, J. Daly v. Kitchen, O’Brien v. A. Daly.
