Dog Kills Fowls
A dog killed about 70 breeding fowls belonging to Mr W. H. Mitchell, of 74 Marshland Road, early on Friday morning. The fowls were in three houses, separated by wire netting. The dog, which left tufts of grey hair on the wire, savaged many of the other 130 fowls in the houses. Yesterday morning Mr Mitchell gathered the remnants of his flock from as far as half a mile away. He has now given up poultry breeding after carrying on since 1932 in the Marshland area. What was left of his stock was sold on Friday.
