Orchestral Society
The major musical undertaking for the Christchurch Orchestral Society this year will be the first movement of Schumann’s Plano Concerto in A Minor, with Miss Susanne Purnell as soloist. This was announced at the annual meeting of the society. Officers elected were.—patron, Dr Vernon Griffiths; president, Mr L. F. de Berry; vice-presidents, Professor J. Ritchie, Miss R. Griffiths, Mrs R. T. Sussex, Messrs W. Watson, G. Connal, K. Newson, R. Field-Dodgson, W. Hawkey and D. Franks; chair, man, Mr G. Horton; vicechairman, Mr A. Dale; treasurer, Mr A. Inlay; orchestra representative, Mr L. Dixey; librarian. Miss C. Bensemann.
