Paraplegic Sports
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A New Zealand federation of paraplegic and disabled sports association was formed on Saturday by members of the Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin associations. The aim will be to send competitors to international sports meetings under the auspites of a New Zealand federation. The Governor-General (Sir Arthur Porritt) has agreed to be patron and Sir William Stevenson is the president. The federation will have its headquarters in Christchurch for the first five years. Results of events held on Saturday were:— Fencing.—L. Campbell 1, K. Mallall 2. Wheel-chair Events.—Race: R. Plessius 1, B. Tocker 2, S. Chaffey 3. Relay: Auckland 1, Canterbury 2. Javelin.—Men: W. Lean 1, R. Fattorini 2. Women: E- Rimer 1. G. Harris 2. Archery.—W. Flood 1, W. Lean 2. Swimming.—Men: S. Chaffey 1, G. Condon 2. Women: E. Rimer 1, L. Brooks 2.
