N.Z.-bred Horse Favourite (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P A ) SYDNEY. The New Zealand-bred General Command is favourite for the $40,000 Sydney Cup, at Randwick today. General Command’s win In the weight-forage Autumn Stakes (one mile and a half) at Randwick on Saturday against a field of seasoned stayers was little more than an exercise gallop. The four-year-old won by six lengths from Duo, a Melbourne Cup place-getter, with Fulmen. a Brisbane Cup winner, in third place. The main rival to General Command in the cup betting is Arctic Coast, which won the last Duke of Norfolk Stakes, two miles. Arctic Coast, also a four-year-old, is trained by J. B. Cum mings, the most successful trainer of stayers in Australia Arctic Coast firmed after impressively winning the Tocal Handicap at Randwick on Saturday. He carried 9-0, 71b more than his cup weight, in the mile and a quarter event.
