N.Z. Soldier Killed
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 14. One New Zealand soldier was killed and another seriously wounded in the Phuoc Tuy province of Vietnam last week. The man killed was Private William Reginald Awatere, aged 23, single, of Gisborne, who died of his wounds while being evacuated by helicopter. The wounded man is Private Kenneth Robert Akers, aged 21, of Lower Hutt. He suffered nine shrapnel wounds and his condition in hospital at Vunjf Tau is serious.
