Damage In Forest
Ashley State Forest seemed to have suffered some damage in the storm but damage to Balmoral, Hanmer and Eyrewell forests had been minor, according to the principal ranger of the Forest Service in Christchurch (Mr T. E. C Bridge) yesterday. “Ashley appears to have suffered the most” said Mr Bridge "Some roads have been blocked by fallen trees so we haven’t been able to get into assess all the damage yet.”
