Eiffel Tower Seeks Second Cup Win

"The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL. W. J. Hillis has saddled three of the last five Riverton Cup winners for Mr W. E. Hazlett. They were Apathy (1963), Eiffel Tower (19641, and Macdonald (1967). Eiffel Tower could improve that record for the same combination in the second leg of the Riverton Racing Club's T.A.B. double today. Eiffel Tower, which has shown versatility by winning major races on the flat, over hurdles and country since he won the Riverton Cup as a four-year-old, will start favourite. Heavy going is not likely to trouble the Kurdistan gelding which can handle good or bad ground. Willypay and Somelight, other good soft track performers, the light-weight. Sunny Fllou, and Superspan, which are also capable under winter conditions, may be the best of Eiffel Tower’s rivals. Donald Mac, winner at three of his last four starts in hack class, may win the Aparlma Handicap, the first leg of the main double.
