Red Cross Help
An all-night relief service was maintained at the Sumner Community Centre by the Sumner sub-centre of the Red Cross Society on Thursday evening and at 4 a.m. yesterday 20 gallons of soup were sent to the Mount Pleasant Community Centre by the North Canterbury centre of the society. The soup was in addition to 200 gallons sent to persons ■ affected by the storm in the i Sumner-Heathcote area on ■ Thursday. Twenty-two meals (were delivered, mostly by ;voluntary drivers. i A few requests were re- : ceived by the centre on Thursi day afternoon and evening for i clothing.
