Middy, a dual accepter at the Oamaru Jockey Club's meeting on Monday, Is likely to start In the Squires Gin Cup, the feature race and the first leg of the T.A.B. double, in preference to the Elderslie Handicap. His owner-trainer, G. B. Thomson, said the final decision would be made this morning. The rider will be the Riccarton Jockey, F. H. Skelton, who will also ride the Messmate five-year-old in the Great Easter at the Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting nezt month. If James Arthur, which has won his last four races, starts at the meeting It Is likely that he will contest the Elderslie Handicap, in which P. J. Silver has been engaged to ride him.
