Break-Down In X-Rays
More than 1600 X-rays in two days were too much for the Health Department’s mobile X-ray unit in Cathedral Square. Yesterday the machine broke down about 10 a.m. and a replacement part was flown from Wellington. The machine will be serviced and back in commission as soon as possible. A stand-by unit was used yesterday afternoon, but officials had their fingers crossed as a great deal of trouble had been experienced with this machine. X-rays will continue to be taken in Cathedral Square, and the mobile unit will begin its suburban survey on Monday. Next Friday It will be available again in the Square.
