OBITUARY Mr C. E. Craig
(N.Z. Press Aiiociation) AUCKLAND. Mr Charles Edward Craig, a former trotting writer and broadcaster, died at his home in Epsom yesterday, aged 86. Bom in Hokitika, Mr Craig worked on West Coast newspapers before joining the “Sun” in Auckland in 1927. When the "Sun” ceased publication Mr Craig joined the racing staff of the “New Zealand Herald” and he covered trotting for more than 20 years. He was for some time the Auckland trotting correspondent of "The Press.” Mr Craig was one of the pioneers of race broadcasting in New Zealand and was made a member of the Auckland Trotting Club for his services 'to trotting.
