Shield Cricket Drawn
A fine double by D. Mcßae (Ellesmere) of 87 and four wickets for 10, was the highlight of a drawn representative cricket match between Ellesmere A and Ashley B, for the Sub-association Shield, at Irwell, at the week-end.
Ellesmere 261/9 dec. (Mcßae 87, J. Lay 36, C. Wilson 31, S. Ryan 21, M. Page 20 not out; G. Creamer 3/60, D. Hayes 3/69) drew with Ashley B 104/8 (C. Merrin 32, G. Thompson 30; McRae 4/10, L. Rennie 2/25).
