Canterbury Swimmer Sets New Times
The Canterbury representative, M. Darch, bettered two of her own records in the girls' section of the Cashmere High School swimming sports. Her new times were set in the intermediate 50 metres freestyle and the 33 1-3 metres open butterfly. Three boys' records were broken. by P. Prendergast (under 14 freestyle), N. Gibson (under 14 breaststroke) and E. Hunter (intermediate 100 metres freestyle). The championships were won by R. Wright (senior boys), C. McPhail (senior girls). Hunter, N. Tinga (intermediate girls), M. McPhail (junior boys), L. Armstrong (junior girls) and J. Jones (under 14 boys). Championship results.—
