Simple Tactics By AU Blacks
On the recent tour by the All Blacks simple tactics were used In every match, no matter what the state of the match, A. J. Steel, a wing-three-quarter in the team, said last night at the Christchurch Returned Services Association Tin Hat Club tattoo in the Jellicoe Hall.
“We just won the ball and ran it, and these tactics were not altered at any stage in the tour,” he said. The success of the tour was due to the inspiration of the management, the competition among the players to play in each game and the support of the people In New Zealand, he said. The chairman of the tattoo was Brigadier J. T. Burrows. The entertainers were Messrs E Rogers and D. Pryke (songs), W. Stevenson (cornet), and G. Harre (violin).
