(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Commonwealth decathlon champion, R. A. Williams, suffering from a torn groin muscle, has withdrawn from the Ne- • Zealand team to compete in the Australian athletics championships at Sydney on Saturday week. Williams’s place in the team will be taken by the 21-year-old Hawke's Bay national hammer throw champion, D. Gilliland.
