Wheat Crop Change?
The possibility of severe damage to the Southland erop would cause a revision of the assessment of a surplus of milling wheat this year, the chairman of the Dominion Agricultural Produce Section of Federated Fanners, Mr S. J. Lis* ter, said last evening.' Mr Lister was commenting on the statement made earlier this week by the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) that no decision had
been reached on the wheat price for next year. Growers are seeking a revision of the Govenment's decision to lower the price. Mr Lister said that growers had maintained that a prudent reserve of wheat had to be established to assure national self-suffi-ciency. This was necessary to provide for such a situation as that being experienced in the harvesting of the large Southland crop.
