FILM CLUB EVENING
Proceeds To Help Deaf
An almost full house appreciatively viewed a selection of international award-win-ning amateur films, screened by the Christchurch Movie Club, at the Canterbury Museum Theatrette, last evening. More than $BO was raised. All the proceeds will be given to the Teaching Films to Help Deaf Children group.
The 13 films screened were chosen by the South Island director of the National Film Unit (Mr F. Chilton) and Mr and Mrs J. Kent, club members.
“We are very gratified by the response given by the public in coming tonight to support the project,” said Mrs Kent, the club president. A National Film Unit production, that will be of benefit to the parents of preschool deaf children, will be made with the help of the money raised from the evening.
