World Champs In 1969

The 1969 world championships will be decided at Lake Bagsvaerd, 12 kilometres north of Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, from August 15 until August 25. The initial organisation for these was commenced as long ago as last year. Although it is too far to say who is likely to represent New Zealand at Copenhagen it is highly probable that a New Zealand team will be sent.

The championships will be under the royal patronage of his Royal Highness Prince Knud of Denmark. Towboats already announced are three Boesch craft powered by 230 horse power Crusader motors, but outboards will be available for trick riders who request them.

Two identical jumps will be placed at the lake, both with fibre-glass surfaces and there will also be two slalom courses laid out.

All competitors will be housed in the one hotel, the Egmont, which is the largest in Scandinavia—4so rooms, 670 beds—each room with a private bath.
