Sir, —“Honesty Pays” seems determined to keep me writing. Many people are wary of the word "honesty” owing to its abuse in recent years. 1 invite him to present me with a petition and find out He is evidently proud of his cause and, to quote his own statement, should not be “afraid to come out into the open.” I am concerned only with the democratic rights of all citizens. 1 do not agree with anonymous telephone calls or letters to ratepayers and their wives. The National Roards Board can promise quite genuinely, but that cannot stop Government cuts as previously, and who knows at present? I also cannot agree with your leading article that any financial cost can balance the scales against a democratic right.—Yours, etc., W. A. GRENFELL. Sefton, February 5, 1968.
