Horses For Auckland
The majority of the South Island horses which will compete at the Inter-Dominion Championship carnival at Alexandra Park will travel north in four aircraft in the next three days. Two flights will leave Christchurch before 10 a.m. today. The horses booked to travel tn them include Byebye Bill, Space Cadet, Cardinal King, Rocky Star. Le Chant. Stylish Major, Glen Dee, Cuddle Doon. Humphrey, Johnny Gee, Bob Again, and Waitaki Hanover. The third flight will leave early tomorrow morning, and the final group will travel,on Friday. They include Chequer Board. Holy Hal. Meadow Bank, Fort Nelson, Bass Strait, Happy Ending, Dispense, Disband and Chief Command.
Allakasam and Lehigh went north last evening. Both will be driven at Auckland by A. M. Harrison.
Towser, too, has gone north. No driver has as yet been engaged for him. Driving engagements for the meeting include: D. J. Townley: Binshaw, Stylish Major. R. M. Cameron: Le Chant. M. Holmes: Meadow Bank, Waitaki Hanover. K. Balloch: Holy Hal. M. A. Skinner: Fort Nelson. J. A. Carmichael: Chequer Board. J. W. Smolenskl: Rocky Star. W. R. Butt: Johnny Gee. C. C. Devine: Bass Strait. Happy Ending. W. E. Lowe: Humphrey. J. L. Behms: Byebye Bill. Space Cadet, Cardinal King. D. G. Jones: Dispense, Chief Command, Disband. T. M. May: Cuddle Doon. Glen Dee.
The Yaldhurst trainer, H. Stafford, said last evening that he had engaged M. Holmes to drive Bob Again if the horse did not draw the same heat as Waitaki Hanover.
