Market Firm In Active Trading
The share market continued to firm on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Trading was active over a fairly wide range. Overseas shares attracted interest, and reflected the recent gains in Australia.
B.H.P. gained 45c, to 1905 c, and Peko-Wallsend Investments rose 196 c to 1120 c. Mount Isa sold 30c higher at 565 c. C.S R. was 8c dearer, and Bank of N.S.W., and Hamersley added 5c each.
Notable gains in the New Zealand list were Lane, Walker, Rudkin, 8c higher at 113 c, and Tasman, which gained 10c, to 680 c. The falls in both lists were mainly narrow, but included a proportion of leaders.
