George In Drawn Bout

The New Zealander, T. George staged a furious rally in the final round to earn a draw with the former Australian bantam-weight champion, N. Kunde, in a torrid 10round bout.
George hurt Kunde with vicious two-handed punches in the last three minutes, clearly won the round, and earned enough points to share the decision. One judge scored for George, another for Kunde, and the third signalled a draw. Boxer Dies (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON. An amateur boxer, John Humphrey, aged 21, of Gravesend, Kent, has died in hospital after being admitted with a fractured jaw, it was announced yesterday. Humphrey fought in a light heavy-weight contest at Northfleet (Kent) on Friday, which he won on points. On Saturday, an X-ray at Gravesend hospital showed that he had a fractured jaw and he was transferred to,the Queen Victoria hospital.
