Ski-ing Ban Lifted
(N.Z.P. A..Reuter—Copyright) GRENOBLE.
A threatened walk-out of Olympic skiers was averted yesterday when the International Ski Federation lifted a ban on trade marks on skiers’ equipment. The skiers and their team managers had been almost unanimous in condemning the rule, which they said threatened the whole future of international ski-ing—which is heavily dependent on free equipment provided by manufacturers.
However, there remained the possibility that the International Olympic Committee would insist on the ban being reimposed.
