National Campaign For Soccer Coaches
The national coaching campaign outlined by the New Zealand Football Association will begin in Christchurch as soon as possible, when a squad of 30 players is named.
A circular was received from the N.Z.F.A. asking that this be done at a meeting of the Canterbury Football Association’s management committee last evening. Between March 15 and 17 there will be a regional coaching school for coaches and on March 21 the regional coach (Mr R. C. Carter) will put his squad through its
paces for the benefit of other regional coaches to observe the methods used. Soon after this a nation*! squad is likely to be chosen for a four-day school during Easter at Huntly, under the direction of the national coach (Mr J. Schwanner). Southern League.—Two further entries, Shamrock and South Canterbury, have been' received for the Southern League. This brings the total' to three. Christchurch City was the first club to enter. Entries close on February 23. An informal meeting of' presidents and secretaries of clubs will be held on February 13 at the Western club’s rooms to discuss the Southern League proposals. Transfer.—A letter was received from the Shamrock club saying it had agreed to pay a fee of $5OO for T. Conley in his transfer from the. Australian club, Hakoah. Ijt asked the C.F.A. to advise the N.Z.F.A. of its willingness to pay the sum. "
