OVERSEAS TRAVEL
Changes Noted (N.Z. Preet Aseoe(ation) DUNEDIN, February 6. Although it is still too early to assess the long-term effects of devaluation on overseas travel, several travel bureaux in Dunedin have noticed a slight decrease in the number of passengers booking for extended holidays. This particularly applies to extensive packaged tours for the Continent and United Kingdom. Most managers attributed this decline to the restricted Currency allowed and the increase in fares. When devaluation was announced, there was an initial spate of cancellations (one bureau recorded 11 in one day) but the general feeling among travel agents is that the public now has a more settled outlook. One agent said he felt cancellations were turning into postponements.
