TERMINAL FOR MEAT
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, February 5. A new meat terminal at Liverpool to serve the New Zealand trade is planned. Talks are now taking place between the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, the Shaw Savill Line and New Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd, who plan a joint terminal equipped with the latest mechanical handling equipment, if satisfactory arrangements can be made.
In February last year a specialised meat handling berth for the Blue Star Line was inaugurated at Liverpool. There is also provision for a specialised meat berth in the new Seaforth Dock, due for completion in 1970-71.
