Woman, Climbs Anzac Peaks

/•From Our Own Reporter) l TIMARU, Jan. 26. The Anzac Peaks (7623 ft to 8323 ft) were climbed today by Mrs Mavis Davidson, a veteran climber, and three others. The Mount Cook National Park Board’s ranger (Mr D. F. Bell) said that in 1953 Mrs Davidson, Miss Sheila McMurray and Miss Doreen Pickens made the only allwoman ascent of Mount Cook by way of the Linda Glacier.

New Zealander Beaten.—P. Beust (France) defeated the New Zealander, J. MacDonald, 6-1, 6*l in a second-round match of the international German indoor tennis championships.
