China Calls For Unified Stand

(N.Z.P* A. -Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG, January 25. China today called for a united front among the people of Indo-China to face the United States “aggressive war” in Asia.

A special article in the “People’s Daily” made no mention of the Korean crisis, but called on the IndoChinese peoples not to yield to American intimidation, and to defend themselves resolutly against American aggression. Tho article, in the official organ of the Chinese Communist Party, and quoted by Radio Peking, said the IndoChinese people must counter the United States “plot” to extend the war. It said liberation movements in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia were supporting each other’s just struggle. It listed the recent victory of the Communist Pathet Lao troops in seizing the strategic fortress of Nam Bac in northern Laos as revealing the prowess of the people’s war in Indo-China. It also claimed that more than 2700 American aircraft had been downed over North Vietnam, while in Cambodia the Cambodian Government had maintained a strict stand

on safeguarding Its sovereignty and territorial integrity. “The people of three IndoChinese states have shared trials and tribulations together,” it said. The article also claimed that American plans to extend the war were being carried out with Soviet collaboration.
