Malaysian Purchases
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON.
Messrs Lee Kok Chee and Leong Hoe Yeng, stewards of the Selangor Turf Club at Kuala Lumpur and members of the Malayan delegation to the Asian Racing Conference, have purchased Cephas from Mr A. O’Malley, of Levin, who won the Wellington Cup with Loofah. By Arragon the five-year-old has won three races, including the Wellington Racing Club Strathmore Handicap and has open class rating. Cephas will be shipped to Singapore next month. Messrs Chee and Yeng have also purchased the three-year-old, Copper Quest, which won at odds of more than 90 to one when ridden by the Riccarton apprentice, D. R. Tucker, at the Ashhurst meeting on Monday.
