Convincing Lesson Assaulting Territorial troops members of the 4th Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment captured an “enemy” camp atop a 2256 ft feature in the Lees Valley area early yesterday morning. After searching the camp and inspecting “bodies” on the ground the troops were startled when a thunderflash dropped in their midst. The senior umpire (Major J. R. M. Barker) explained that such an error in action could have caused serious trouble for the company. The “enemy” made up largely of V-Force, veterans, then showed how the attacks would have been carried out in Vietnam. Bee-keeper Sergeant R. W. Hope was called from the Blenheim Police Station recently to deal with intrur crs in a wool-buy-er’s shed. He did not need his uniform to convince the intruders to submit to arrest. He took off his tunic, smeared his shirt with bees and found the queen bee. When they had all formed a mass on his shirt he shook them off into boxes. Sergeant Hope is an amateur bee-keeper. His official call cost him only two or three stings.
