The New Orleans police have apologised for arresting Ernest Morial, who, in May. becomes the first Negro to sit in Louisiana’s House of Representatives for 79 years. Morial and a Negro newspaper executive, Henry Edjoie. were arrested by two patrolmen on a street corner outside Morial’s home on Friday night and charged with “failing to move on.” Morial was also charged wi*h using obscene language The patrolmen concerned ■vesterday apologised and ad[mitted they had used poor judgment.
