No Trace Of Kakapo
(N.Z. Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Jan. 23. A five-day search for the rare kakapo in the remote Gouland Downs area of the West Coast failed to reveal any trace of the bird. The search was made by Mr T. Hartley-Smith, senior field officer of the Wildlife Department after a suspected sighting of the bird by Ministry of Works employees surveying near the Heaphy Track.
