Scholarship Results
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 23. A Christchurch Boys’ High School pupil, R. W. Platts, was placed fourth with 811 marks in the University Junior Scholarships announced today by the Universities’ Entrance Board. He was 28 marks behind the winning scholarship.
Fiona E. Wylie, a pupil at Hutt Valley High School, Lower Hutt, scored the top mark of 839. Pupils from 17 Christchurch schools gained scholarships: four from Christchurch Boys* High School, three each from St Thomas’s Canterbury and Christchurch Girls’ High School, two from Christ’s College and one each fror» St Bede’s College, St Andrew’s College, Shirley Boys’ High School, St Margaret’s College and Cashmere High School.
