RULING ON SIXES
For all future cricket matches at Lancaster Fark, a ball landing on the full in the gutter around the field will constitute a six, as will a ball hitting the sight-screen on the full. This was passed at a meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association’s management committee last evening, on the motion of Mr D. J. Elder, after a letter had been received from the Canterbury Cricket Umpires Association asking for clarification on this point. The confusion arose during the recent match between the touring Fijian team and a Canterbury XI. Rothman’s Tournament.—Mr G. W. Frampton was appointed manager of the Canterbury (under-23) team for the Rothman’s tournament in Wellington from February 19 to 24. Mr L. C. Johnson has been appointed as the Canterbury umpire for the tournament.
