Vintage Car Club Rallies

Vintage vehicles will take part in two rallies to be conducted by the Canterbury branch of the Vintage Car Club of New Zealand in the next two months. The first, for motor-cycles made before 1931, will be held in Christchurch on February 3. Some of the 35 entries will come from Invercargill. The rally will cover 40 miles in the morning, and riding tests .will be held in the afternoon. Trophies will be presented at a dinner in the evening. Entries from Timaru, Blen-

heim and Nelson, as well as from Christchurch, have been received for the second rally, an alpine rally for vintage and veteran cars. On March 1 the 75 entrants will leave Christchurch for Greymouth by way of the Lewis Pass and will spend the first night at Maruia or Reefton. During the afternoon and evening of March 2, entrants will provide displays at the Greymouth Industrial and Agricultural Fair Association’s annual show. They will return home the following day. i
