New Harewood Professional
An Australian golfer, L. Gitsham, aged 21, will take up the position of full-time professional at the Harewood Club. Gitsham, who has been a member of the Professional Golfers’ Association since he was 16, recently spent four months as the assistant professional at the El Macero Country Club at Sacramento, in the United States. During his six-month working holiday in the United States, Gitsham was impressed with the more modern teaching methods employed by American professionals, compared with those used in New Zealand. He scored two holes-in-one, his first, at the Harding Park and La Costa courses in the United States.
