SOLD TOO MUCH
Councillor Is Disqualified (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Jan. 16. A member of the Rotorua City Council (Mr H. K. Heaton) has lost his place because of a breach of the Local Authorities Members Con-i tracts Act, 1954. He has been disqualified because the automotive supply firm. H. K. Heaton, Ltd. of which he is managing director, sold goods worth $2704.13 to the council in the year ending March 31, 1967, when the limit imposed by statute is $2OOO. Rotorua’s Town Clerk (Mr L. J. Wright) said today the breach was detected while the auditors were checking the annua accounts for the year ending March 31, 1967 He said the council would now decide whether to hold a. by-election.
