Hunt Continues For N.Z. Man In Aust.

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) ADELAIDE, December 27. South Australian police today continued a search for a young New Zealander wanted in connection with a number of offences committed in Victoria.

The hunt for the man, a Maori, has continued since Christmas Day in the river town of Renmark, 160 miles north-east of Adelaide, and in the adjoining town of Loxton. Police today disbanded road blocks but they are still watching the many outlets from Renmark.

Renmark police say the man is desperate and report that he has a knife strapped to one leg.

Since the hunt began he has been seen four times and cordoned off once but each time he has evaded capture Police are amazed at the man’s skill in eluding them as a force of six police has closely patrolled big areas of scrub.

Another Maori, aged about 20, who was with the missing man has been taken into custody by the police. He has not been able to help in the search for the wanted man
