PUBLIC NOTICES NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOIL CONSERVATION AND RIVER CONTROL IN THE MATTER of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments and IN THE MATTER of the Soil Con: irvation and Rivers Cont ol Act 1941 and its amer iments. NOTICE .s hereby given that the NORTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD intends to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 all those parcels of land containing together 2 acres 2 roods 16 perches situated in Block XI of the Rangiora Survey District ■ and described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of soil conservation and river control. A Plan of the said lands is deposited at the Public Office of the North Canterbury Catchment Board, 21 Latimer Square, Christchurch and is there open for inspection by all persons during normal business hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any wellgrounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands (not being an objection to the amount for payment of compensation) and to send such objection in writing within forty days (40) from the first publication of this notice to the Secretary of the North Canterbury Catchment Board, 21 Latimer Square, Christchurch. Permission to burn between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on suitable evenings will be granted on applying to your local Fire Warden of the County Office to see if conditions are suitable. Persons burning, etc., must have a suitable fire break ploughed round the area at least 11 yards wide. Such permission does not relieve the person burning from responsibility for any damage caused.
