PUBLIC NOTICES PAPARUA COUNTY COUNCIL RESTRICTIONS ON LIGHTING OF FIRES FROM AND INCLUDING SATURDAY, DECEMBER 23 PURSUANT to Section 20 of the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1955, the lighting of fires in the open throughout that area of the Paparua County included in the Selwyn Fire Group is prohibited as from Saturday, December 23. 1967, except that with the permission of the Area Warden fires may be lighted on suitable evenings between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Burning between these hours will be permitted only with the approval of the Area Warden. Application may be made per telephone and the Warden is to be the sole judge of when a fire can be lighted. However, such permission does not relieve the person lighting the fire from full responsibility from keeping the fire under control. NOVIS, County Clerk. 2535 CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL CHANEYS AND BOTTLE LAKE RURAL FIRE DISTRICTS WARNING RE FIRES (Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1955) OWNERS AND OCCUPIERS OF LAND IN THE CHANEYS AND BOTTLE LAKE RURAL FIRE DISTRICTS, also CAMPERS, PICNICKERS, SPORTSMEN, etc., entering these Fire Districts are hereby notified that during the period from due date hereof until April 30, 1968, being a closed fire season, it is an OFFENCE punishable by imprisonment or by a fine of *lOO to light any fire or fires in the Fire Districts without first having obtained a PERMIT from the undersigned. PERMISSION TO LIGHT FIRES for essential purposes ONLY may be granted if weather conditions to justify this, upon personal or written application at the Waimairi County Council office, cnr Clyde and Jeffreys Roads, advising the extent and area of the burning required and the date or dates on which it is desired to burn and protective measures taken. Each written permit is issued subject to confirmation by telephone on the day selected, just before lighting any essential fire. The attention of PICNICKERS, CAMPERS, FISHERMEN, SHOOTERS, and the GENERAL PUBLIC is directed to this WARNING, which applies to them as well as to occupiers of land. The approximate boundaries of the Fire Districts are on the NORTH, the WAIMAKARIRI RIVER, on the EAST, the SEA COAST, on the SOUTH, BEACH ROAD, and on the WEST the RAILWAY LINE and MARSHLAND ROAD, but plans showing the extent of the Districts are available for inspection at the offices of the Christchurch City Council and the Waimairi County Council during office hours.
