Beer Dearer In Bottles
The price of quart bottles of beer in Christchurch hotels has been increased. Locally produced beer has gone up lc a bottle, to 28c, and beer from other areas has been increased 2c a bottle, to about 32c.
The increases have already been applied by hotels.
The rises stemmed from increased freight charges on bottled beer, the president of the Canterbury Wine and Spirit Merchants’ Association (Mr H. J. Ballin) said yesterday. The association had passed this on to hotels, he said.
