Bompa Ready To Return
IN.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON.
The owner of Bompa, Mr Be Bodie, said yesterday that the reason for an examination at Massey College earlier this week was to make sure that the horse was in perfect condition.
The horse had been undergoing treatment from a Masterton veterinary surgeon, Mr J. N. Wallace, and had already responded satisfactorily before the Massey College examination.
All signs of swelling and lameness had disappeared before the examination, said Mr Bodie.
However, Bompa’s trainer, G. Ivil, his owner, and Mr Wallace wanted the examination before putting the gelding back into work.
Bompa is now at Riversdale Beach, east of Masterton, where he is doing three weeks of walking exercise in the sea as the first part of his preparation.
